Edward Van Vliet
After his graduation from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1989, he started in 1991 primarily in textile design. With his own design Studio Edward van Vliet now works on various projects in the areas of product, textile and interior design for both national and international clients. He focuses primarily on the hospitality industry, offices, private homes and public spaces.
Clients include Ligne Roset, L’Oréal, MOOOI, Moroso, Italamp, Quasar, as well as hotels like: Coral Lodge Mozambique, L’Elephant Qui Rit Marrakech, Macau Tower, NL Hotel (Amsterdam), Hotel Dom (Utrecht) and Hoterl Blooming (Bergen).
Edward translates his vision, creativity and years of experience into unique (interior) concepts in which he combines three–dimensional lighting and furniture designs with two-dimensional patterns, prints and graphics featuring layering, textiles and colors.
His work – be it graphic art, lighting or interior design – always combines traditional design with industrial processes in a mixture of high-tech and natural materials. An eclectic, original decorative design style in which he mixes elements from different cultures (Western design with Middle East, Africa and Asia inspired elements) creating worlds within worlds.
